Nanomedicine
Definition
Medicine that uses nanoscale carriers to control where a drug goes and when it is released.
The central problem is not making the drug — it is delivering it. A carrier below about 10 nm is filtered out by the kidneys within the hour; above about 200 nm the liver and spleen take it. The window in between is most of why nanomedicine is nano.
