Parameter
Definition
One of the numbers inside a model that training adjusts; the count of them is the usual proxy for a model's size.
Useful as a rough scale indicator and misleading as a quality one. Parameter count says nothing about the data a model was trained on, how long it trained, or how it was tuned — all of which routinely matter more.
