About Workshop
This 3-day virtual hands-on workshop focuses on nano-enabled bioplastics for sustainable materials and product innovation. Participants will learn how biopolymers such as starch, cellulose, chitosan, alginate, PLA, and PHA can be combined with nano-additives like nanocellulose, nano-clay, ZnO, TiOβ, and silver nanoparticles to develop functional bioplastic films and edible coatings. The workshop covers formulation design, film preparation, testing, applications, and lab-to-market product development. Using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Canva, Miro, ImageJ, FTIR, SEM, XRD, TGA, and tensile testing, participants will design formulations and develop a nano-bioplastic product concept for packaging, biomedical, agricultural, or sustainable applications.
Aim
This workshop aims to provide practical knowledge on the design and development of nano-enabled bioplastics for sustainable and eco-friendly applications. Participants will learn how biopolymers and nanomaterials can be combined to create advanced biodegradable materials with enhanced mechanical, barrier, and antimicrobial properties.
